Team PNG dominates on Day 5 of the 2022 Pacific Mini Games

PNG had a very successful outing today after five days of the Pacific Mini Games in the Northern Marianas.

In Tennis, Team PNG recorded straight victories with no losses in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

In Va'a, our women's team took out the silver in the V6 - 1500m and later got the Bronze for the V6 - 500m for good measure.

Then when athletics kicked off in the afternoon it was just non stop medaling at the podium all afternoon! 

Debono Paraka opened proceedings raking in the Gold for the Men's Discus with a throw of 51.02metres.

Then the medals came in waves and the PNG anthem was on repeat at the Oleai Sports Complex until dusk!

Chimbu lads Dilu Goiye and Siune Kagl picked the gold and silver respectively in Men's 10,000m.

The final medal presentation event of the night was extra special with sprint Queens Toea Wisil, Isila Apkup and Leonie Beu taking Gold, Silver and Bronze.

The Women’s medals were presented by PNG Olympic Committee Secretary General Auvita Rapilla.
